Anita McCarthy is an accomplished leader.
She possesses extensive knowledge and experience in information sciences and telecommunications development with applications in industry, military operations and education. Her work focuses on evaluations and independent research in information systems, computer technologies, and knowledge management. Additionally, she retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of military experience in Communication and Information Systems (CIS). Dr. McCarthy has designed and implemented digital libraries, databases and computer-based training materials for graduate professional education. She is experienced in curriculum development, instructional design, information technology management, and distance learning. Her recent work explores information systems, computer technologies, and knowledge management in higher education. Internationally traveled, Anita has participated in CIS and community development projects: teaching and training in Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Africa. In the course of her work, Dr. McCarthy interacts regularly with heads of state and government, cabinet ministers, elected officials and political and civic leaders. Her recent experience and residence has been focused specifically in West Africa, where she has provided technical assistance in planning, monitoring and evaluating grass-root CIS projects.
Dr. McCarthy holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Linguistics from the University of California at Los Angeles, a Master's of Science in Computer Technology from the University of Louisville, a Master's of International Security and Military Studies from Air University and a Doctorate in Information and Computing Science from NOVA Southeastern University.
